The Woman Who Sings

Everyone dreams about fame and popularity when they’re children, but not everyone succeeds. There are many reasons why, but that’s not the issue right now. Life seems to show that fame doesn’t last forever, but there are people who have proven otherwise. I’m talking about Russian signer Alla Pugacheva, who with her personality and talent has won over generations of fans.

It might be a lot easier to write about her dryly like in wikipedia: а Soviet and Russian musical performer, producer, composer, movie actress, People's Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of the USSR...But behind this state recognition is the idol of many ordinary and famous people from many countries. This isn’t a career – it’s a difficult path to every heart...

I’m certain that if you were to ask people on the street of any town in the former Soviet Union who is the head of the UN, who first landed on the moon, or who first decoded the human genome, you’d get few correct answers. But everyone would know who Pugacheva is and you’d be hard to find someone who couldn't sing or at least knows her songs.

Alla Pugachova is timeless and beyond borders. She is bright and unpredictable. Her songs are our dreams and lives: "Something's Still to Come!", "Where Does The Childhood Go?", "A Million Red Roses"...I’m sure that each of us has found ourselves at some point in these mini musical stories. I have. :-)

Happy Birthday, Alla! Kings can do it all!
